Osmind Care Network (OCN) Payouts: How Your Money Moves and How You're Paid + Billed

Osmind sits between you and your insurance and patient payments. Clinicians in the Osmind Care Network bill under one of Osmind's own tax IDs, so payments come into Osmind's bank account first. Osmind takes its fee, then pays out the remainder to your practice every two weeks.

This article walks through how that payout is calculated, when it lands in your account, and the handful of things that make OCN's timing a little different from a simple percentage-off-the-top model.

HOW OCN WORKS

  • You bill under Osmind's tax ID rather than your own, as part of the Osmind Care Network.

  • Insurance and patient payments are collected into Osmind's bank account.

  • Osmind takes its cut (the "take rate," subject to your monthly minimum), and pays out the rest to your practice.

  • Payouts happen twice a month — biweekly — rather than as a single monthly invoice.

HOW YOUR PAYOUT IS CALCULATED

Every payout, Osmind compares two numbers and charges you whichever one is bigger:

  1. Your take rate × your collections for that period (a percentage-based fee)

  2. Your monthly minimum (a flat dollar amount)

Whichever of those two is larger becomes your fee for that period. Your payout is simply your collections minus that fee.

Your specific take rate and monthly minimum are set out in your contract — check your agreement for your exact numbers.

Example, using a 10% take rate and a $5,000 minimum:

  • Collections: $30,000

  • 10% of collections: $3,000

  • Compare $3,000 to the $5,000 minimum → $5,000 is bigger, so that's your fee

  • Payout = $30,000 − $5,000 = $25,000

Another example, same 10% take rate and $5,000 minimum:

  • Collections: $70,000

  • 10% of collections: $7,000

  • Compare $7,000 to the $5,000 minimum → $7,000 is bigger, so that's your fee

  • Payout = $70,000 − $7,000 = $63,000

What if collections don't even cover the minimum?

Using that same $5,000 minimum: say collections for a period are only $400. The minimum fee ($5,000) is more than the total collections ($400) — there isn't enough money in that period to pay the minimum fee and still send you a payout.

When this happens, you're never sent a bill for the difference and you're never paid a negative amount. Instead:

  • Osmind takes the full $400 as that period's fee (your payout for that period is $0).

  • The remaining shortfall — the $4,600 still owed toward the $5,000 minimum — is carried forward and added to what's owed on your next payout.

PAYOUT SCHEDULE

OCN pays out twice a month, but the monthly minimum is only ever checked once — at the second payout of the month.

  • Mid-month (1st payout): Osmind pays out that period's collections minus that period's fee. The monthly minimum is not checked at this payout.

  • End-of-month (2nd payout): Osmind combines the fee from this period with the fee from the mid-month payout and compares the total to your monthly minimum, then pays out this period's collections minus this period's fee.

How often do I get paid?
Twice a month, on a biweekly schedule — a mid-month payout and an end-of-month payout.

Is the monthly minimum checked at every payout?
No. Only the end-of-month payout checks the minimum, and it does so using the combined fee from both payouts that month. The mid-month payout simply pays out collections minus that period's fee.

What happens if my collections are too low to cover the minimum?
You won't be invoiced for the difference and you won't receive a negative payout. Osmind takes all of that period's collections as the fee, and the remaining shortfall is carried forward and netted against your next payout.

What's my take rate and minimum?
These are set per customer and documented in your contract. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you're not sure where to find them.
