How to delete notes and manage note signing permissions

Last updated: June 8, 2026

If you're unable to delete notes in your account, this is likely due to your current permission settings. Osmind Support can adjust these settings to enable note deletion capabilities.

Requesting Note Deletion Permissions

To enable note deletion for your account:

  1. Contact the Support team to request note deletion permissions

  2. Request that note deletion permissions be enabled for your user account

  3. Once enabled, you should be able to delete notes as needed

Note deletion permissions can be granted to non-provider users, including practice managers and administrative staff. This allows these users to delete notes created accidentally or in error without waiting for provider assistance.

Note Signing and Locking Requirements

Note signing and locking permissions are typically restricted to specific roles within your organization for compliance and security reasons. If you cannot sign or lock notes:

  • A designated supervisor or administrator will need to sign and lock each completed note

  • This is often a regulatory requirement to ensure proper oversight of clinical documentation

  • The same person responsible for signing notes may also need to handle related administrative tasks like completing billing forms

Workflow Considerations

It's recommended to establish a clear workflow with your team regarding:

  • Who has permission to delete, edit, sign, and lock notes

  • The process for note review and approval

  • Responsibilities for completing associated administrative tasks

If you need clarification on your organization's specific workflow or permission structure, discuss this with your administrator or during your next training session.
