E-Prescribing: Add Users to View the Medications Tab

Last updated: May 25, 2026

To access e-prescribing in Osmind, users must first be registered with DrFirst, which powers the e-prescribing integration.

The registration process is:

  • Go to the main ePrescribe tab and the Registration tab will appear.

  • Select the new user from the dropdown and add the required information.

  • Go HERE for further instructions.

User permissions must be configured correctly based on their role. Permissions may include:

  • Prescribing medications

  • Drafting prescriptions (non-prescribing)

  • Managing medications on behalf of a prescriber

Proper permission setup is critical to ensure the account functions correctly within the platform.

Non-Prescribing Users (Can Draft but Cannot Sign or Send Prescriptions)

Non-prescribing users can:

  • View patient medication lists

  • Draft prescriptions

They cannot sign or transmit prescriptions. All drafts remain in pending status until reviewed and signed by a licensed prescriber.

Non-prescribing users:

  • Do not complete identity proofing

  • Do not have EPCS (controlled substance) access

To add a non-prescribing user that is not registered in your practice yet, contact the Customer Experience team via:

Please include:

  • User full name

  • User email login for Osmind

  • User credentials (e.g., MA, RN, etc.)

The team will confirm once the user has been enabled.

Advanced Permissions (Managing Medications on Behalf of a Prescriber)

To allow staff to manage medications on behalf of a prescriber, a Provider Agent role may be assigned.

Provider Agents can:

  • Create and manage medication lists

  • Draft prescriptions within Rcopia

They cannot independently sign or transmit prescriptions.

For roles requiring EPCS access, the Logical Access Control (LAC) process must be completed to meet security requirements.
